During the award ceremony of the 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs (100MIYE) awards, a hundred of the youngest and brightest entrepreneurs are being celebrated and recognised for the contributions they made towards the Malaysian economy.
Hosted by Armani Media Sdn Bhd, the award ceremony was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on the 2nd August 2019. Gracing the night with his presence was our prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and the minister of entrepreneur development, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof.
Amongst the list of winners includes Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Datuk Nicole Anne David and Dato’ Lee Chong Wei.
Tan Sri Lim Wee Chai, executive chairman and founder of Top Glove Corporation Bhd, was conferred a special 100MIYE 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award, for his decades of documented accomplishments in the field of entrepreneurship, and his commitment in coaching and developing other young entrepreneurs.
“We have spoken a lot about how we hope to have entrepreneurs that would drive the nation forward in terms of its economy, development and growth. To some, it may sound only about profit, monetary gains and bottom lines. But more important as we strive to create successful economic models through entrepreneurship, is that our entrepreneurs grow alongside noble values – integrity and honesty,” said Tun Dr Mahathir in his opening speech.
The award night has seen an attendance of 1,300 participants, with entrepreneurs from various industries, ranging from celebrities, interior designers, medical practitioners to manufacturers. This year’s award ceremony has seen the largest attendance of participants during the four-year-long history of the 100MIYE awards.
“I feel humbled. All this recognition is directed towards my team and my customers who choose to believe in us from day one. With this recognition, I have more weight on my shoulders. I have to deliver to exceed my customer’s expectations,” said CK Chang founder of OXWHITE Pte Ltd, and one of the winners of the 100MIYE Award.
“One of the winners came up to me and requested that I took a picture with him and his parents. He wishes to share the joy of winning the award with his loved ones, and I was grateful to share such a intimate moment with them. I am glad that the award has made an impact on someone’s life,” said Dato’ KK Chua, managing director of Armani Media Sdn Bhd.
