Conventionally, rustic and luxurious features go together as well as onion with chocolate ice cream would. In spite of that, The Roof Studio has managed to find the perfect balance between these two very distinctive styles by incorporating modern touches to form a harmonious trio. Laid out in a modern fashion, the interior of this residence features a dominant use of straight lines, geometric motifs, neutral colour palette and refined finishes with wood and marble thrown in to elevate its overall look. Aside from material selections, the design is also enhanced by its open space layout that greatly improves ventilation and visual connections.
Due to the nature of its architectural structure, deeper parts of the interior are shielded from direct sunlight which made them appear darker. In order to ensure that the interior stays bright and spacious, the team has extended its neutral colour palette into these spaces. Hidden LED lights are also applied onto the ceiling to provide the illusion of natural lighting without becoming too glaring to the human eyes. At the same time, wooden features are carefully incorporated throughout this residence as either part of its décor or furnishing, serving as an anchor to the design. Sleek and refined, they are invaluable for the comfort and visual appeal that they offer. Meanwhile, the team has also converted an empty space into a fully functional study area equipped with stylish designer chairs and a gorgeous cowhide rug, which the owners could retreat into for work or relaxation.
