Founded in 1996, GC Building Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd has since become one of Malaysia’s leading distributors of high-quality European bathroom fixtures and kitchen cabinetry. In 2006, the company became part of the German holding company GC-Gruppe which was established under the name Cordes & Graefe in 1921. Created by August Cordes and Alfred Graefe, the Bremen-based corporation grew over the years and adopted its current name in 1975.

Through GC Building Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd, many first-class hotels and private residences across the country now boast bathroom and kitchen fittings from prestigious brands like Alape, Hoesch, Samuel Heath and Puntotre. One of the most renowned brands it carries is the Germany-based Dornbracht which has been synonymous with high-quality designer bathroom fittings and accessories since 1950. Its well-earned reputation stems from its highly innovative approach which has seen it win numerous awards for its ‘Made in Germany’ products and become a trendsetter in terms of the décor, architecture and functionality of bathrooms and kitchens.

Dornbracht LifeSpa

Their latest partnership is the promotion of the Dornbracht LifeSpa which inspires deeper thinking about spa architecture and consequently health in relation to private bathrooms and exclusive hotel environments. Aware that water treatments can play an integral role in people’s health and personal wellbeing strategies, Dornbracht has collaborated with wellness and medical experts to explore how water can be used to balance and increase life energy. Horizontal Shower

A truly unique bathroom solution, the Horizontal Shower allows its users to shower lying down and enjoy a revolutionary new level of water-related wellness and relaxation. The positive effects of this bathing position are accentuated by six massage jets and freefalling water while the different temperature stimuli mimics a classic Kneipp application, ensuring a bathing experience unlike any other. Aside from offering the option of being combined with different wellness treatments such as peeling or soap-foam massages, it can also accommodate a reclining shower position.

Aquapressure

Drawing on the same principles as traditional acupressure which focuses on harmonising a person’s ‘qi’ or life-force energy, Aquapressure uses targeted water massages to stimulate the meridians or ‘energy pathways’ and pressure points on the back and neck. Two special massage jets called Water Fan and Water Curve can be integrated into a home’s existing Vertical Shower, enabling water massages to become a convenient and independent addition to a user’s daily hygiene routine.

Aquamoon

The electronic iteration of the Aquamoon represents the culmination of everything that defines the entire Aquamoon range. Boasting three flow modes which are Tempest, Aqua Circle and Queen’s Collar, it also has an optional fourth flow mode called Embrace. There are also three different lighting scenarios called Moon, Earth and Sun which can be controlled either in combination with or independent of the flow modes. Various signature treatments including specially developed pre-set light and water choreographies can also be initiated automatically. As a result, the act of showering is transformed into a relaxing escape where rejuvenating life energy is dispensed.
