CitizenM launched its first hotel outlet in Asia July last year. Located in Taiwan’s cosmopolitan capital, North Gate, citizenM Taipei North Gate features a revolutionary hotel design that caters to a new group of travelers known as “mobile citizens”.
Partnering up with the Artyzen Hospitality Group, citizenM has brought this concept created by award-winning Dutch designers, Concrete, into one of Asia’s most vibrant cities, which offers a one-room category designed around sleeping and lounging on its comfortable, XL-size bed. The design is focused on comfort, quality and practicality.
Robin Chadha, Global Chief Marketing Officer of citizenM Hotels, shared what he looks for in a hotel as a frequent traveler, that is to have a sense of belonging and feeling comfortable.
CitizenM Taipei features a design that celebrates local culture by incorporating art and style, which are prominent in the Taiwanese culture.
The exterior entrance wall is personalised with a vibrant anime and pop culture art piece by Taipei’s up and coming local graffiti talent, ANO.
Other artworks include works from famous Taiwanese photographer Chou Ching Hui’s “Animal Farm” collection and Taiwan contemporary artist Hung Tung-Lu’s interactive art piece, nicknamed “Lightbox”.
Allan Yip, Vice-President of Marketing, Distribution and Brands at Artyzen Hospitality Group, also spoke that it is a very exciting city to launch the first citizenM in Taipei, Asia. North Gate is a central and vibrant location full of good food, retail and culture, a perfect playground for the modern traveler and citizen of the world. CitizenM hotels will open in key gateway cities including Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur in Summer this year.
