Her career started in 198 as she joined a local firm and was involved in some notable projects, including Putrajaya Detailed Urban Design, PT18 commercial development in Kuala Lumpur, and a few private residences. Later on, she joined two major international companies and was involved in both local and overseas branding and architectural projects, including Proton Flagship Showroom, leading brand retail outlets, as well as restaurants.
With good moral values and professionalism, they ensure consistent quality of their work. They specialise in the design of hotels, serviced apartments, and private residences. Among their notable projects include Backhome, a travellers’ hotel; Kapas, a high-end condominium; Red@2A, a private residence; KlOE, Boutique Hotel; and CLC, a private international school.
Masyerin commented, “As part of our architectural philosophy, timber is always evident in our projects. We incorporate timber consistently in the most natural appearance as possible. In order to achieve this, we require an in-depth understanding of the natural characteristics of timber. MTIB has the resources to provide substantial data and test results that are very useful”.
“In regards to timber as a building material, we will continue to understand and explore its potential. There’s a lot more to understand through research and development in regards to species, curing, and installation method that are very crucial to ensure that we achieve the best result. We also want to see the use of more engineered timber products such as glue laminated timber that can even be used structurally”.
