In April, the Salon del Mobile once again marked the calendar of design enthusiasts around the globe. Despite certain times for the world at large, brands bought their A-game with lavish stands, luxurious pieces and classy styling.

With the aim to drive contemporary design forward in Malaysia by showcasing only the very best in European design, Studio216 is a design house in Kuala Lumpur which houses the likes of Porada, Flexform, Cierre, Gallotti & Radice, Rimadesio, Penta, Ethimo, Georg Jensen and Secto. Attending this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, Studio216 got a glimpse into the brands latest designs and the international creatives behind the magic. Some key pieces that got their attention included a redesign of Porada’s Tondo Table by Essetipi which now sports a shiny-lacquered base; a luxuriously soft new sofa design by Antonio Citterio for Flexform; a glamorous, circular Carrara marble dining table by Gabriele Buratti for Galloti & Radice; and an innovative and adaptable walk-in closet concept designed by Giuseppe Bavuso for Rimadesio.
