By altering the layout of this 1,500 square feet condominium unit through careful space planning, the designer from Pocket Square created a human-centric living space that complements the owner’s need for a bachelor pad. As a result, this 3-bedroom unit has been converted into a 1-bedroom condo equipped with a home library, large walk-wardrobe, a spacious dry kitchen a fully functional wet kitchen as well as a high-tech living area. Despite the many distinct spaces, more emphasis was placed on the design of the dry kitchen due to the owner’s love for cooking. Furnished with built-in cabinets, a clean white backsplash, a Volakas marble breakfast counter, modern pendant lights and a space-saving pocket door that leads into its wet kitchen, the space is both spacious and practical.
Another highlight of this design is its sleek living area. It comes with hidden compartments for the owner’s high-tech gadgets and a gorgeous dark Burmese Teak wall feature that is extended onto its ceiling. The minimalist approach to this space has instinctively gave a clean urban edge with a hint cosiness, thanks to its material selections. Moving across the hallway, the designer opened up the structure and fashioned the space with custom-made wooden bookshelves on either side of the wall and a daybed next to the window, transforming the space into a home library and a casual lounge where the owner can spend time reading. Track lights here also added to cast light onto his extensive book collection, enhancing its overall aesthetics.
The master bedroom was given a customised platform bed along with a simple work desk with a naturalistic wallpaper providing a serene and rejuvenating atmosphere. Meanwhile, the walk-in wardrobe has furnished with a floor-to-ceiling cabinet and large mirror panels to maintain a sense of spaciousness within the area. Out of the 3 bathrooms that came with the unit, one has been equipped with a luxurious showerhead as another is fitted with a bathtub, built-in power point for speakers and bronze mirrors. On the other hand, the common bathroom is decorated with bespoke designer tiles rooting upwards from the floor onto the wall.
