Warm colours and rich textures bring a touch of luxury to a modern industrial style. When incorporating the style into a home for a young family, designer Yee Wei Ling decided to give industrial chic a softer, more cosy spin.
Throughout the home, dark metal structural frame is been used as a staple of the industrial material palette. These range from the base of the dining table and standalone kitchen island unit, to the window frames.
On the walls, a Sancora textured is painted and Feruni, concrete looking wall tiles are added for a raw finish to the elegant interiors. These surfaces are practical and easily maintained, taking into account busy schedules.
To use the space given wisely, large shelving units were installed, once again framed with metal. In the living room, they have used it to display photographs as well as selected bottles from the family’s liquor collection. Besides, it was seen again in the his-and-hers study upstairs.
Artworks are strategically placed to match the respective colour schemes of the spaces, such as the textured painting in the dining room, or to inject colour into a room, such as the blue painting in the grey-toned master bedroom.
