Steelcase, the global leader in the office furniture, officially presented its refreshed Steelcase Business Centre in Kuala Lumpur on 21st February 2019. The newly renovated center is designed to drive more mobile, agile and innovative company culture that features the company’s latest workspace furniture and application in Malaysia which includes their innovative office chairs.
The first and only of its kind of center in the Asia Pacific introduces Creative Spaces for the first time in Malaysia, a collection of technology-enabled workspaces specifically designed to help foster the efficiency and creativity of employees, unleash their potential and help organizations amplify employee performance.
Alongside present, was Toby Rakison, Regional Director, South East Asia, Steelcase Asia Pacific, Cherry Wan, Director of Brand Communications, Steelcase Asia Pacific and Joe Chan, Managing Director, Steelcase Kuala Lumpur Business Centre.
Developed in conjunction with Microsoft, the Creative Spaces concept is made up of five different types of workspaces. However, only two out of the five spaces are on display at Malaysia – Ideation Hub and Maker Commons along with a selected range of Steelcase products including Steelcase Series 1, SILQ, Brody, Casper Cloaking Technology.
Ideation Hub: A high-tech destination that encourages active participation and equal opportunity to contribute as people co-create, refine and share ideas with co-located or distributed teammates on Microsoft Surface Hub.
Maker Commons: Socializing ideas and rapid prototyping are essential parts of creativity. This space is designed to encourage quick switching between conversations, experimentation and concentration, ideal for a mix of Surface devices, such as Surface Hub and Surface Book.
SILQ: The SILQ chair (pronounced silk) is a breakthrough in seating design. Its innovative materiality is both mechanism and artistry and delivers a personal experience by responding to the unique movements of your body.
Brody: The Brody WorkLounge and Desk are private workspaces that are designed to be good for your body and brain. As dedicated spaces for resident workers in open-plan offices, touchdown spaces outside in-demand project rooms or study carrels in busy student commons area.
Casper Cloaking Technology: Casper Cloaking Technology by Designtex is an architectural film for glass walls that obscure digital screens to outside view.
