While the desert may seem like a forsaken place, it is in fact rich with hidden treasures. In the eyes of President of the Cosentino Group Francisco Martinez-Cosentino Justo, Almeria isn’t only a place where he grew up in, it is also the land where he has established the rapidly developing Cosentino kingdom. As the brand has expanded into major cities all over the world, he insists on giving back to the local society. He has also been involved in various recycling programmes to help reduce the harmful impact that the industry has on the environment.
As a founder of a family-owned business, Francisco Martinez-Cosentino Justo road to success wasn’t as easy as it seemed. “While I didn’t receive much financial resources from my father when I started Cosentino, his unwavering trust in my vision has been my most available asset at that period,” he shared. Today, Francisco Martinez-Cosentino’s children are working within the organisation. However, Francisco Martinez-Cosentino feels that Cosentino is not just a family-owned enterprise, it is a professional organisation. As a father, he also revealed that it is a magical experience watching his children learn and grow. He added, “With the proper management attitude, family-owned businesses would usually last longer.”
Coentino’s success is also greatly attributed to the discovery of the revolutionary Silestone® and Dekton® surfaces, which helped the organisation to take a huge leap forward. Following the success of Silestone®, Cosentino went on to produce Dekton® with the help of feedback from the market. While Dekton® is technologically and visually more advanced than Silestone®, there are projects that Silestone® surfaces are more compatible with as both of its innovations help to complement each other, which greatly increases the value of the Cosentino Group.
Cosentino has continued to innovate new products by developing an ultra-compact surface that has very low porosity which ensures that the sturdy material doesn’t crack due to temperature variations. Tougher than granite, the material does not contain any resin and has high resistance towards UV rays. On top of all the features mentioned above, Dekton® is also five times more resistant to bend than granite, enabling manufacturers to produce surfaces without adding any support, which greatly reduces the hassle during installations.
Cosentino focuses greatly on developing its international markets. By acquiring and investing in experts in international sales network and human capital, the group has successfully overcome cultural challenges while enabling it to customise their products to match the needs of the local consumers. “Our headquarter hosts over thousands of visitors annually. We also have around 3,000 staffs from all over the world. They are the inspiration behind our creations as we ensure that our products cater to the needs of our consumers,” explained Francisco Martinez-Cosentino Justo.
