No strangers to provocative art and architecture movements as this graduate’s in interior architecture from the prestigious LimKokWing University, Say Yang and Say Win have translated their bold and refreshing take on interior design in their work. As Nevermore grew, the firm has recently moved to a new office located at Jalan Burma, Georgetown, to accommodate its expanding operations. In addition to the expanding operation, Chong Su Min, who was previously worked as an interior designer in Singapore also joined in the firm, who also happens to be the wife to Say Yang. Her addition to the Nevermore family offers a female perspective into their work targeting a larger group of clients.
Remarkable Style
Offering a 360-degree solution in architecture, interior design, urban planning, and branding, Nevermore reputation is known as a young and vibrant design-oriented firm due to its unconventional approach to design. By combining their knowledge of architecture and interior design the brothers emphasize on creating designs that are human-centric yet representational of their owners’ personal style. Never to fixated on a certain style, the adventurous spirit possessed by the firm enables it to think outside the box!
Notable Projects
One of the most iconic projects completed by Nevermore was the thorough transformation of a pre-war terrace house in Penang, which puts the firm onto the map by winning the DOTY Award for the Best Interior Design (Residential) category back in 2017.
Last year, the firm outdid itself once again into the spotlight with the two nominated projects at the DOTY Awards 2018. One of which is an is an ostentatious lounge bar clad in mesmerizing golds and pinks that recreated the lavish atmosphere and absolute indulgence enjoyed by the high society in the “Roaring Twenties”.
Besides, Nevermore did another residential project in last year’s edition of the nation’s most illustrious interior design award, where a display of their experiments with building materials. This project was located in Tanjung Bungah- an idyllic beachside town in Penang.
Lastly, Nevermore’s showhouse design for the Greenwich Garden property development has solidified the outfit’s position as a “Triple Threat” in the field of interior design.
Moving from projects types to projects types and design concepts to design concepts, Nevermore is looking forward to embarking on a new design journey, to bring about winds of change to the interior design scene in Malaysia.
