Standing dignified with elegance, class and sophistication; the first opening of the largest autohaus in East Malaysia has captured and heeded all ears of the market. Spearhead by Sachi Interior Design, the one-stop centre is outlined to accommodate Mercedes-Benz 3S: sales, service and spare parts; serving both their passenger cars as well as commercial vehicles clientele.
Minimalistic and practical, the concept of the overall building design conforms to the Mercedes-Benz Presentation System (MPS II) briefed by Daimler Germany. The design style comprises of massive, rigid geometric manner where the building envelope is structured in concrete. Heavy on the back, the building is fully tiled and covered for allocating heavy duty, day-to-day operation.
On the contrary, the front elevation bears a light-hearted framework and queerness. Fabricated in mostly glass and steel, it exhibits modernity and originality for effortless view to the showroom. Having an ample space, the ground floor is tiled in grey. Simply a monochromatic colour, which flashes a variety of Mercedes-Benz car models to do the talking.
In order to distinguish the higher-end models, the cars are parked to the other segment of the showroom space, laid with a white sleek tiled platform showing its value, apart from making a rather sharp impression. The concierge and counter follows after the formality of the design intent, as each furniture boasts the brand’s approach and colour schemes.
Carrying conversations elsewhere, potential buyers are adjourned to the pantry. Decked in warmth wood, the ambience gives a sense of home. The marbled-bar counter is always prepared to serve light snacks, coffee and tea. Besides, the hospitality is extended to casual business meetings, a time-out or a waiting room. Believe it or not, the Sachi team even threw in a recharge corner for both humans and our indispensable gadgets. A good shut eye, a massage chair and a port connector certainly do the trick!

Complying with the green building index (GBI), the incorporation of green technologies into the design has succumbed to placing green screens onto the windows, nurturing and harvesting the benefits of sustainability. Resonating its tagline – the best or nothing – the brand-new designed autohaus has earned an acclamation as Kuching’s next iconic landmark.
