Trendy and cozy is what IQI Concept has contrived for local food importer ATT Global. Raw and minimal, the industrial concept never goes out of style even today. There could be numerous ways to get the perfect idea for this office space. In the end, the design comes down to no other than New York’s modern industrial flair.
The notion given for this small space is integrating a café concept. After all, it is also about food business. Not at all a simple task, the layout needs to be deliberated, where the main office area should be separated from the food display and tasting area. On top of that, with the number of products they owned, it is challenging to accommodate spaces for the employees too.
First off, it is only pragmatic for the entrance and the common space to be warmth and approachable. The trend is pursued with white bricked wall, texturally painted. With the ceiling exposed, the white hue is ideal to balance off the darker tones from the metal frames and wooden cabinets. Meanwhile, the ever colourful food products are displayed on pallets and the industrial racks on the sides of the wall.
The limelight of this space would be the bar table braced right at the centre. Intentionally, for food tasting samples and casual business conversation. The design team decided to throw in a hanging incandescent light globes giving it a modern twist. Charming enough to the extent of using a metal framework to fixed the lightings which posed as a hovering trellis above it. New York’s chic doesn’t just stop right there even to the detail in placing the vintage license plate on the wall that reads out Anfield Road.
Separated from the common area, the workspace is given an open concept to aid for team communication and interaction between each individual. Seated on a lighted, wooden platform, the white office space is decorated with large, minimalist clock walls, exhibiting the time difference globally, as it is timely essential for their market import. Filled with character and charm of exposed beams, brick and ductwork; this New York’s contemporary mastery is one humble yet distinct take of west meets east.
